Los Pocitos de la comunidad Mej\u00eda, del cant\u00f3n Portoviejo, es un sector donde convergen los afluentes del r\u00edo Chico y el r\u00edo Portoviejo, que est\u00e1 siendo protegido con la colocaci\u00f3n de piedra escollera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estos trabajos tienen un 80 por ciento de avance y son ejecutados por la Prefectura de Manab\u00ed. Aproximadamente mil metros c\u00fabicos de piedra escollera han sido transportados por maquinaria contratada por el Gobierno de Manab\u00ed mediante feria inclusiva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En ese sector, tambi\u00e9n se realiz\u00f3 la construcci\u00f3n de un muro de 150 metros de longitud en la margen izquierda del r\u00edo, con la finalidad de corregir el cauce del afluente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abEstos trabajos nos protegen, especialmente en invierno, que es cuando nuestras viviendas corren riesgo de ser arrasadas por la fuerza del agua\u00bb, explic\u00f3 Vicente V\u00e9lez, dirigente del sector Los Pocitos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abNos sentimos muy seguros y agradecidos con el Prefecto, porque como ning\u00fan otro, se toma muy en serio los padecimientos de la ruralidad, ejecutando oportunamente las obras de prevenci\u00f3n.
